Health & Safety Policy

Avonside Group Services Health and Safety Policy is available upon request and is continually monitored, reviewed and updated to comply with changes in legislation, work methods and innovations. The specific responsibilities placed on both employers and employees under The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and other associated legislation, are incorporated within our policies and procedures.

The Group is committed to compliance with all current legislation and considers the health, safety and welfare of all who work for Avonside, or who come into contact with either our operations or premises, of prime importance.

Method Statements & Risk Assessments

Method Statements

Avonside Group Services conducts all of its activities in compliance with all relevant legal requirements and regulations. Our Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work therefore comply with all health and safety legislation applicable in the UK.

In addition to compliance with statutory requirements, Avonside Group Services uses products, methods of work and protective measures to minimise health and safety hazards. All operatives also undergo Avonside Group Services bespoke induction process prior to commencing work, as well as receiving on-going training.

Risk Assessments

Avonside Group Services manages its own Risk Assessment policy and procedures which seeks to reduce the exposure to risks to a minimum for all affected by its activities, whether directly or otherwise. Where appropriate, measures will be incorporated into the Safe System of Work to control the risk providing that it is reasonably practicable to do so.

Environmental Policy

Avonside Group Services is a major roofing contractor operating throughout the UK, providing roofing services for the major house builders, contractors and local authorities.

The Group recognises its responsibilities to assess and minimise the impact of its business operations on the environment and to prevent pollution.

We are committed to compliance with all legal and other relevant requirements in all our activities and we strive for continuous improvement in all areas of our business.

Customer Care

Avonside Group Services is the largest roofing contractor in Britain in terms of geographical presence, with branches stretching from the south west and Home Counties into Scotland. We therefore believe that we have a responsibility not just to our customer-base but also to the reputation of the industry as a whole to ensure that we achieve the highest standards of professionalism and customer satisfaction.

One of Avonside Group Services' goals is to secure new and repeat business from customers and to win performance-related awards. This underlines our business philosophy that the level of service provided to each and every customer should result in a guaranteed recommendation.

Avonside Group Services believe that the personnel responsible for the delivery of contracts are central to customer satisfaction. We are also happy to provide advice on specification, at pre-construction stages, to effectively ‘design out’ problematic situations.
