My-Clad Systems, a specialist branch of Avonside Group Services, can design and install metal roofing systems from simple profiled sheeting through to fully insulated standing seam, acoustic and high humidity roofing all complete with a variety of perimeter fascias, soffits and rainwater goods.

We also provide vertical wall cladding ranging from traditional industrial profiled sheeting to flat faced architectural wall panels from various manufacturers. In addition to these services, we can design and install flat-to-pitched roof conversions by means of lightweight metal frames complete with either metal tile systems or metal roof cladding laid over. We are also able to call upon the skills of other divisions for tiling, slating or flat roofing in order to provide a complete roof package including any perimeter details.

We can offer assistance in helping customers choose the most suitable and cost effective solutions to suit a given project. All detailing work is carried out using CAD and by working closely with key manufacturers this all helps to ensure that the products and design offered are right first time.

The recently launched Avonside Renewables business aims to provide the commercial, private, social & domestic housing markets of Britain with a range of systems targeting carbon emission reduction.

As market leader, in the UK roofing industry, Avonside Group Services has identified a requirement to provide solutions for improving the energy efficiency of Britain’s properties. Avonside Renewables has therefore committed itself to meet the challenges faced by both the refurbishment and new build sectors of the industry.

Following the assessment criteria, set down by the Code for Sustainable Homes (CFSH), the systems offered by Avonside Renewables provides solutions to help meet the energy efficiency requirements of Code levels 3,4,5 and 6.

Avonside Renewables offer systems and solutions, several of which also help to reduce CO₂ emissions, that include, but are not limited to –

• Solar Photovoltaic Roof panels – generating electricity via solar energy, and providing revenue payback under a government incentive scheme called the ‘Feed-in Tariff’⁽¹⁾.

• Solar Thermal Roof panels⁽²⁾ – Utilising the suns rays to heat hot water systems reduces the energy consumption of traditional heating systems.

• Green Roof Systems – supporting rainwater harvesting systems whilst also providing sound insulation and an energy efficient roof covering.

• Insulation – improved loft and wall insulation reduces energy bills and maintenance costs.

• Daylight Sun Tubes  – captures natural daylight, an innovative roof to ceiling tubular skylight, to brighten up the home or place of work.

• Solar Panel Roof Ventilation – A technologically advanced system that is an environmentally friendly ventilation solution, suitable for reducing condensation in most properties.

(1) The Solar Feed-in Tariff is a financial incentive backed by the Government and paid by the energy company to householders to generate their own clean electricity. The 'Feed-in Tariff' rewards the installer for the amount of energy generated, regardless of whether it is consumed or not. The scheme also provides an additional payment for any electricity you export.

(2) It is expected that the government will introduce a scheme in June 2011 called the ‘Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)’ that will make payments to those installing renewable heat technologies that qualify for support, year on year, for a fixed period of time. The scheme is designed to cover the difference in cost between conventional fossil fuel heating and renewable heating systems (which are currently more expensive), plus an additional rate of return on top.
